2014 WCTV Clapper Awards

On Tuesday, November 18, 2014, WCTV hosted its annual TV awards program, WCTV Clapper Awards, at the Soprema Center in Wadsworth, Ohio.  The TV programming that David Kenney has produced, and sponsored by the Wadsworth church of Christ, with his show “Light From Above” resulted in three awards that evening:

 

1.   Milestone Award for 100^th Program of “Light From Above” which aired January 3, 2014.

 

2.   Runner-up for Best Religious Message – "Light From Above" The New Testament Church in Prophecy.  This award is the 2^nd place award for this category which David has won 3 years in a row now.

 

3.   Clapper Award for Best Promotional – The Christian Man (David Kenney).  This is the top award in this category, and the first that David has been awarded.  The video was produced to promote his father’s gospel meeting on “The Christian Man” in Wadsworth which highlighted some of the events of his parents’ lives as it relates to Christian manhood.  "I am very pleased to have won first place in a category I normally do not compete in.  Someone nominated this promotion and many people who have been touched by my parents surely voted to secure this award.  I am gratified to have won which is one of many deserving tributes to my parents." -- David R. Kenney.

 

The judging is based on two components:  independent judging by media experts and popular vote which is done mostly online.  “These awards could not have been possible without the support of this congregation and many other people who voted online.  Without these votes, I would not have received these honors.  I am very thankful to be able to highlight the work of the church in this way.” – David R. Kenney.
